Our Supervision Approach

Clinical supervision at MindRidge is collaborative, structured, and reflective. It is informed by evidence-based practice, trauma-informed principles, and regulatory standards, supporting supervisees as they develop their clinical identity and decision-making skills.

We aim to create a safe learning space where supervisees can explore clinical challenges, enhance skills, and strengthen ethical practice without judgment.

Supervision may include:

Supervision is paced according to the supervisee’s level of experience and learning goals, with an emphasis on integration of theory, skills, and self-reflection.

Who We Supervise?

Supervision is available in individual, dyadic (two-person), or small-group formats (depending on availability), and can be scheduled virtually to support clinicians across Ontario.

CRPO Requirements for Clinical Supervisors

To provide clinical supervision under the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) standards, a supervisor must meet specific professional criteria. While CRPO does not pre-approve supervisors or grant a formal “supervisor” designation, individuals offering clinical supervision must:

Experience & Independent Practice
  • Have a minimum of five years of clinical practice experience in psychotherapy. –
  • Meet CRPO’s “independent practice” criteria, including at least 1,000 direct client contact hours and 150 hours of clinical supervision completed in one’s own training.
Training in Supervision
  • Complete 30 hours of directed learning or training in clinical supervision, such as coursework, group learning, or structured study, in line with CRPO guidelines.
  • Complete the mandatory CRPO supervision module before supervising.
Professional Standing
  • Be a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in good standing or registered in another authorized psychotherapy profession.

These requirements help ensure that supervisors are equipped to support you ethically and competently within the scope of regulated practice in Ontario

Supervision at MindRidge is provided in alignment with CRPO practice standards, ensuring that supervisees receive guidance that supports both professional development and regulatory compliance.
