Our Approaches
At MindRidge we use evidence-based techniques and modalities tailored to your needs and goals.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a mindfulness- and values-based approach that helps individuals develop psychological flexibility by changing their relationship with thoughts and emotions rather than trying to eliminate them. The focus is on acceptance, present-moment awareness, and committed action guided by personal values.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a structured, evidence-based therapy that examines the interaction between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It helps individuals identify and modify unhelpful cognitive patterns and behavioural responses that contribute to emotional distress and functional difficulties.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
CPT is a trauma-focused, evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals process and reframe maladaptive beliefs related to traumatic experiences. It supports recovery by addressing trauma-related thoughts that interfere with emotional processing and daily functioning.
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
CFT integrates evolutionary psychology, neuroscience, and mindfulness to help individuals cultivate self-compassion and emotional regulation. It is particularly effective for individuals experiencing high levels of shame, self-criticism, or chronic threat-based emotional responses.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a structured, skills-based therapy that integrates acceptance and change strategies. It focuses on building skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness, particularly for individuals experiencing intense emotional dysregulation.
Exposure Therapy
Exposure Therapy is a behavioural intervention that helps reduce fear and avoidance by gradually and systematically confronting feared stimuli, memories, or situations. Through repeated exposure in a safe therapeutic context, individuals learn that anxiety diminishes over time.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a trauma-focused psychotherapy that facilitates the adaptive processing of distressing memories using bilateral stimulation. It helps reduce emotional reactivity and cognitive distress associated with traumatic or adverse life experiences.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
MBCT combines cognitive therapy principles with mindfulness practices to increase awareness of thought patterns and emotional responses. It is commonly used to prevent relapse in depression and to enhance emotional regulation and present-moment awareness.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative Therapy is a collaborative approach that helps individuals externalize problems and re-author personal narratives. It emphasizes meaning-making, identity development, and strengthening preferred stories aligned with personal values and strengths.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
SFBT is a goal-directed, time-limited approach that emphasizes strengths, resources, and solutions rather than problems. Therapy focuses on identifying achievable goals and building strategies that support meaningful change in the present and future.
