Clinical Background & Expertise
Razgar Qaderpour holds a doctorate in Couple and Family Therapy and is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in Ontario. Razgar works with adults, couples, and families experiencing trauma, relational difficulties, anxiety and mood-related concerns, parenting challenges, intergenerational dynamics, and life transitions influenced by migration and cultural change. His clinical approach attends closely to the interaction between personal history, relational patterns, and broader social and cultural contexts.
Razgar brings an extensive clinical, academic, and supervisory experience to his work. His professional practice has been shaped by many years of sustained engagement across private practice, community-based services, and interdisciplinary clinical settings, where careful clinical judgment, ethical clarity, and the ability to work with complexity have been central.
Specialized Training & Therapeutic Approach
Razgar brings a strong foundation in evidence-based psychotherapy across the lifespan. His therapeutic work integrates a range of established approaches, including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Acceptance- and mindfulness-based approaches
- Narrative therapy
- Family systems perspectives
- Structured parenting interventions
These modalities are applied collaboratively and thoughtfully, with attention to pacing, context, and professional boundaries rather than rigid technique. His work emphasizes clinical depth, responsiveness, and respect for the complexity of human experience.
Razgar’s professional background also includes research and applied mental health projects focused on trauma, couple and family dynamics, cultural responsiveness, and quality of life. This work continues to inform a clinical stance that is both evidence-informed and grounded in lived human experience.
Clinical Leadership, Supervision & Consultation
Alongside direct clinical work, Razgar has held significant responsibilities in supervision, program development, and the maintenance of clinical standards. He has taught at university and professional levels, delivered international scientific seminars and professional workshops, and provided supervision and advanced clinical training to therapists and trainees.
